GOOD TO KNOW:
Tuition Fees are based on a set number of lessons per calendar year, paid in 10 monthly installments.
Lessons beginning mid-year will be adjusted to reflect the remaining months.
Make-up lessons are not available for missed sessions
A 20-minute call to discuss your child’s lessons and answer any questions.
-
We don’t offer a single free lesson. Instead, we encourage starting with a short introductory session followed by a few lessons. This allows you to:
Make sure the online lesson setup works smoothly
See how the lessons are structured and how your child can progress
Ensure that our teaching approach is a good fit
Understand how to support practice and revision during the week
There’s no obligation to continue, but this approach gives you confidence that your child will benefit and that you’re making a well-informed investment.
-
Simply being present and supportive during practice is incredibly valuable. Your encouragement and engagement go a long way in motivating your child, even if you don’t know much about music yourself.
-
During the early stages of music education, students learn through the fixed solfège system (Do Re Mi) to build pitch accuracy and confidence in singing. Gradually, the alphabet (A B C) is introduced, since both are key to singing and reading music.
-
Absolutely not! Playing the piano uses both hands, so being left-handed won’t hinder your child’s learning. While they may initially favor their left hand, it won’t affect their progress.
-
We begin with an introductory period to observe how each child learns and which approaches they respond to best. There’s no one-size-fits-all method, so any method books used are chosen to suit the individual student.
-
My approach draws on my classical training and over 20 years of teaching with Yamaha Music Education, nurturing the whole individual.
-
Having an instrument from the start is crucial for real progress. Without one at home, practice is extremely limited and students may struggle to develop skills or fully enjoy their lessons. Borrowing or renting a keyboard in the early stages is a practical way to get started while seeing how your child responds.
-
Apart from a piano or keyboard, students will need:
A desktop, laptop, or tablet (not a phone)
Reliable internet (15+ Mbps recommended)
Video account set up for lessons
A quiet, distraction-free space
Music books, pencil, and other materials
Complete setup instructions will be sent upon enrolment.
.
-
In the early stages, short and regular practice sessions are best. Your teacher will guide you on the right amount for your child.
-
We’re unable to offer make-up lessons, as lesson times are set for the full school year. For families who travel frequently on weekends, weekday lessons are a good alternative.
